Back in 2017, Guy and I spent six months travelling around Australia.

It was hands down the best thing we've ever done.

Somewhere between the long days on the road and a weekend at the Broome Rodeo, the dream of Cobba Country was born.

Our original dream was to build a country clothing brand that would allow us to continue travelling Australia, following the country event circuit and selling our products from a pop-up shop along the way.

Reality Hit – We Came Home and Life Took Over

We returned home to Queensland andbefore long found ourselves back in the routine of work, bills and responsibilities.  Guy started an earthworks business, I returned to a job at a law firm, and we bought our first property.

The dream of Cobba Country never disappeared though. We registered the business name and began testing samples, but for a while, life simply got in the way.

In 2021, while on maternity leave with our first son Billy, everything changed.  Like so many mums, I found myself wanting to prioritise motherhood.

Leaving my job was scary, but it also gave me the opportunity to finally give Cobba Country a real go.

It was no longer just about building a clothing brand. It was about creating a life that gave our family flexibility.

I don't think I would have taken that leap without Guy. Whenever I doubted myself, he never did. From day one, he's been my biggest supporter.

Taking the Leap – Launch Time

After six months of planning, product sampling, trademarking, website building and much more.

We officially launched Cobba Country in June 2022.

I'll never forget that feeling, so much excitement but oh the nerves!  Would anyone actually buy from us and what would they think of us doing something so different!

Thankfully our family, friends and those very first customers believed in us and because of them, we are where we are today.

Why "Cobba Country"?

Why "Cobba Country"?

Before there was Cobba Country, there was just Cobba, our Kelpie who was Guy’s best mate and still is.

But there was another reason the name just felt right.  In true Aussie fashion, a cobba is a mate and that's exactly the feeling we wanted this brand to have.

So while our business is proudly named after one very special Kelpie, it also represents the country lifestyle we love and the people we hope feel right at home whenever they put on one of our products.

Our first six months were chaotic, in the best possible way.

We attended sixteen events, packed the horse float, set up marquees, met thousands of incredible people and completely fell in love with what we were building.

Behind the scenes, it wasn't always glamorous. There were late nights packing orders, answering customer messages after bedtime and working through nap times while learning everything as we went.

From day one, we've believed that if we're going to put our name on something it has to be something we'd proudly wear ourselves.

Quality has never been something we're willing to compromise on.  Every product goes through extensive testing, and even then, we're always listening. But great products are only half the story as real

Looking back, it's hard to believe that a conversation during a lap around Australia has grown into what Cobba Country is today

What started as a dream between Guy and I has become a true family business. Today, my Mum and Sister work alongside me every day, helping keep everything running while I juggle life with our two little boys.
